However, as always I am just a bit behind on my documentation of the grand event, something I predicted would happen months ago...see here. However, at this late point, this documentation is completely only for posterity purposes, just for documentation. So here is our snap shot at Christmas 2008.

Christmas Eve, pictured above, consisted of dinner at Grandma and Papa Bull's, the annual Christmas Eve program, and the ginger bread house making event. Christmas Eve is so much better with little ones around. The energy and excitement they bring on this special night is fantastic. I hope there will always be little ones in my life to liven up these special events.

Christmas morning and actually the entire Christmas day was nothing I had expected. This year, Lyza actually woke up early. She was so excited to see if Santa came to our house. We couldn't even keep her in her room so we could make sure the family room was prepped and ready. We were starting the Christmas morning hot chocolate and fire in the fire place...when the next thing we knew our Lyza was out by the Christmas Tree playing with her gifts already. It was so funny, she had been so quiet and sneaky, we completely started laughing. The above collage of pictures are the fun memories we had from our exciting day.
However the biggest down side of this Christmas was that our daddy, Super Steve, had lost his super hero powers for one day. Just a little bit of back ground on our daddy. We are lucky enough to have our own Super Hero in our home on a daily basis. Our daddy is actually a Super Hero disguised as an average American citizen. However, this Christmas our Super Hero lost his powers for the day. I can honestly say that I remember 2 or 3 days, in the 9 years I have know Super Steve, that he has been so sick he couldn't get out of bed. He just doesn't ever give into sickness. He always say..."Oh I can just work through it." So if he ever was in bed, I knew it was serious business. This Christmas was one of those days. Here is how our Super Steve spent our Christmas Day...

He was so sick...never have I seen him sleep an entire day. He was a champion and would drive with us to every family party we went to. Then he would find a bedroom and fall back asleep. I am so thankful that our Super Hero "Super Steve" is usually at full power strength. Because I am not a super hero...and I depend on our "Super Steve" way too much.
So that is the run down on our Christmas festivities. Better late then never I guess. Got to love it!!! Expect our 2009 Christmas post around April of 2010 :)
