Steven and Ben

There are about five guys in our neighborhood who are running a huge relay race in a few weeks. They have been going running at night to train and yes...they all wear their little head lamps on their heads so they can see in the dark. I thought they looked so cute...I had to blog about it.

I am so proud of all of them and their determination to continually enter races and stay healthy.

sleeping all day...not so much at night

Mixed up days and nights...that is the stage of life we are in at the moment. This is pretty much how Seth looks during the day. Not so much at night! At night we are just wide awake and showing no interest in sleeping. Memories of Lyza as a newborn came rushing back to Steven and I the first night we were home with Seth.

Good thing they are so darn cute that even though you are exhausted you pretty much don't care.

lyza you make me laugh....

So I was changing Seth's diaper the other day and Lyza inquired about his brown umbilical cord that was still in his belly button.

Lyza: Mom, what is that?

Me: That is called an umbilical cord. It helped baby brother get food while he was in mommies tummy.

Lyza: Oh, why is it still in there?

Me: It will dry out and then it will fall off.

Lyza: So once it falls off...does that mean we get to keep him?

Me: (Laughing) Yes, Lyza it is kind of like a tag on a new shirt...once you take the tag off it is yours to keep.

I love how her mind works.

best mothers day

Today I had the best Mother's Day! I got kisses from my little Lyza and our new little Seth! I count myself one of the luckiest people in the world today. I love being a mom. As hard as it is on a daily basis...it is the best thing that has ever happened to me.

Thank you Lyza and Seth for making my mother's day so special.

The big day came and now we have our little man here! What a day and journey it was...

Here we are at 7:30 in the morning right outside the hospital...don't worry I wasn't nervous at all???

First of many pricks and pokes....couldn't they figure out a way to deliver a baby pain free?

A short 9 hours later...our little man entered our life! He was beautiful and perfect. And of course just like Lyza, looked just like his dad. Could I get some DNA in there somewhere?

I am loving on him. There is just something about a newborn baby, I can't get enough.

We are so glad and thankful that Seth is here. Thank you to everyone for all of your help and love. We can't wait to just go home and give this little man love! Oh and not get any sleep!

Who says you can't help your dad put in the landscaping in a tutu?

Lyza thinks it is perfectly acceptable.

So by the size of my CANKLES and my legs...I am definitely done! I don't remember my ankles and legs getting so swollen with Lyza. But no worries I am all about water retention on this pregnancy. Hopefully this great characteristic will be the first thing to go once the baby is here.
